What is Acupuncture?

Guiding your body to balance and harmony

Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture is a gentle, holistic practice that has been used for thousands of years to support the body’s natural ability to heal. By placing very fine, sterile needles at specific points along the body, acupuncture helps restore balance, improve energy flow, and ease tension. Many people find it deeply relaxing, leaving them with a sense of calm, clarity, and overall well-being. It’s a safe, natural way to support both physical health and emotional harmony.

TCM Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a core practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with roots going back thousands of years. It involves the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body along pathways called meridians. In TCM, these meridians are understood as channels through which vital energy, or qi (pronounced “chee”), flows. When that flow becomes blocked or imbalanced, the body can experience pain, dysfunction, or illness. Acupuncture aims to restore that balance.

Sessions are typically relaxing. Most people feel little to no discomfort from the needles, and many find the experience deeply calming. Treatments are individualized and your practitioner will take a detailed health history, assess your tongue and pulse, and develop a point prescription tailored to you specifically.

Commonly addressed concerns include: Chronic and acute pain (back, neck, joints, headaches) Stress, anxiety, and sleep difficulties Digestive issues Hormonal imbalances and menstrual irregularities Fatigue and immune support Fertility support

TCM acupuncture looks at the whole person rather than treating symptoms in isolation. Whether you’re managing a specific condition or looking to maintain your health, acupuncture offers a time-tested approach that works well on its own or alongside other care.
